Chad's Physical Features
In Chad there are many physical features, like the Sahara dessert. The Sahara is the largest dessert in the world; it is a whopping 3,500,000 sq. miles. The dessert goes through 10 countries (Morocco, Mauritania, Mali, Algeria, Niger, Libya, Tunisia, Egypt, Sudan, and Chad) the Sahara is in the north part of the country; surprisingly the Sahara in Chad is not that dessert. It is mostly mountainous because of the Tibesti Mountains which overlaps the Sahara, so it is more mountainous in the areas that the Tibesti Mountain overlaps the Sahara. But the rest is dessert and animals like the ones above are just some of the life in the dessert, and of course there are cactuses and a few bushes. Another physical feature is the Sahel which goes through 9 countries (Senegal, Mauritania, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Sudan, Eritrea, Ethiopia, and Chad). It is not desirous it has more trees, but not a lot like a rain forest, so it is grassland. The animals that live on the Sahel are rhinos, zebras, giraffes, and other animals like that; the plants are grass, and trees. It is located in the middle of chad. Chad has a lake called Lake Chad; it is in the middle west of chad. It shares the lake with its neighbors, Niger, Nigeria, and Cameroon. The lake is a form of water for the people and it is a source of food, the fish they catch from it. There is one more physical feature, the Chad Basin, it is a basin. A basin is a depression it spans more than 625 miles and is 5,000 feet deep.
